Meet Laura, Research and Development (R&D)

Since starting as an R&D trainee in 2012, Laura has grown through several roles at Hiab, building deep expertise in software and complex crane systems. In 2024, she moved to Sweden to lead the Monitoring & Safety department, a step that expanded both her scope and impact. Today, she continues to drive innovation from Vallentuna, as Senior Manager, Control Systems.

Laura was initially drawn to Hiab by the opportunity to enhance her skills in research and development while satisfying her curiosity about this dynamic sector. 

“When I started working at Hiab, I discovered a fascinating world of technologies like electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics. I became deeply passionate about it and realised that I could contribute to making a difference. Sometimes, when I see a crane operating in various parts of the world, I think about my role in making it possible, which is incredibly rewarding.”

In her current role, Laura collaborates across departments to discuss new projects and lead development activities in the control systems field, where the customer needs are turned into new functionalities with special attention to enhance safety and efficiency. She values her team's commitment to growth and is enthusiastic about fostering a culture of development.

With a strong sense of belonging, she feels as if she is part of a family within her team.
